Privex now accepts EOS!
We're proud to announce we've added a new cryptocurrency option to our payment gateway - EOS (@eosio).

EOS is a blockchain developed by Block.ONE, with one of the key developers being Daniel Larimer ( @dan / @dantheman ) - the same person who created the Steem network. The blockchain is competing in a similar space to Ethereum, with a big focus on smart contracts and "dApps".
Unlike Ethereum however, it's built upon Graphene - the technology that powers both Steem and Bitshares - allowing it handle blocks being produced every 500ms (0.5s).

Does this affect Privex's commitment to Steem?
Absolutely not. We will continue to provide for the Steem economy and infrastructure, and we'll be actively supporting Steem and SBD payments.
We're simply offering customers more choice in how they pay. Many of our customers have asked us to accept EOS, and we've found that the economy and developer ecosystem is now mature enough for us to accept it as a payment method.
Scatter Integration
To make EOS payments seamless, we've integrated Scatter. If you have the Scatter wallet installed, you can just click "Pay with Scatter", and approve the pop up from Scatter.
No copying and pasting memos :)

How does Privex handle the EOS payments?
We operate our own in-house developed payment gateway, with @someguy123 responsible for the majority of the payment system code.
For scanning transactions from the EOS network, we use EOS Py written by @eosnewyork
As for the "Pay with Scatter" button, we've written our own transaction code that uses the open source libraries ScatterJS and EOS JS.
Unlike many other companies, all cryptocurrency payments go directly to us, not to a third party. We pay all of our staff, and several of our suppliers with cryptocurrency - meaning the majority of the coins we receive stay within the ecosystem instead of being instantly cashed out.
