Duke University TIP: Center for Summer Studies
Students in grades 8 through 12 can attend summer educational programs on one of the nation’s most prestigious college campuses. Duke University’s Talent Identification Program offers top-notch courses in cutting-edge facilities on a campus steeped in history and tradition. Students can also enroll in marine biological studies at the Duke University Marine Laboratory on the Atlantic Ocean in Beaufort, North Carolina and study coastal geology, marine biology, marine zoology and oceanography.

For over 25 years, Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development has offered advanced students a chance to do in-depth study in interesting subjects with other bright students and work through course material at an accelerated pace. Those parenting gifted children have long appreciated that CTD uses research-driven methods to provide learning experiences that inspire, challenge and draw upon students’ interests.

UCONN: Program for Academically Gifted Students
As an outgrowth of their world-renowned Schoolwide Enrichment Model, the Neag Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development at the University of Connecticut has established its UConn Mentor Connection, a summer program serving rising high school juniors and seniors. Based on years of research and success, the program follows methods developed by Dr. Joseph Renzulli and his team of education specialists in teaching the academically gifted.
