What Pandemic? The Bazaar Is There!

Sticker of BTS, Korean Boy Band I found for my 9 years old niece at the Weekly Bazaar, Gorgeous Pamulang, South Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia

Hello Friends

My Hubby wakes me up around 8 on a saturday morning, I didn't join his morning stroll because I stayed up too late doing some works for a friend the night before. It's not his habit to disturb my sleeping time especially during the weekend. He told me that there's a bazaar near the Pamulang University Compound. I wonder why he told me that while he's not the one who loves to stroll around the market. "I saw a stall which selling cheap shorts, you said you want to buy new shorts for me last month", He said. I shake my sleepy head and prepare to go with him.

I remember we often take the route where the Bazaar is. it is on a narrow street in front of a vocational private school, Sasmita which is not holding the face-to-face teaching and learning activities because of the pandemic. I never seen this bazaar exists last year. So I think, bad economic conditions caused the traders to return to business even though there are not many buyers. I guess it's not the peak time yet.

There are 3 housing complexes around this location, so I think it's just a matter of time people will come.During the pandemic, people are holding their desire to go to the big market or mall, so this kinda bazaar will be an oase for those who need to buy the thing they need. This cheap market lasts until the night and there will be a lot of transactions going on.

We parked our scooter in front of the school and then @dipoabasch led me to the stall where he saw the shorts he wanted to buy. There it is, a long stall under a plastic sheet with 2 men shouting and serving a customer.

My hubby seems a bit confused what to have when so many shorts are there. I need to help him by pointing at dark color shorts and ask him to check the size whether it fits or not. Well, No fitting room around, so we need to use traditional way to measure the size by circling our neck with the waist of the shorts, lol. We bought 6 shorts, 2 for him, 2 for me and 2 for our father. The total cost was IDR 215K equal tu $15 HBD.

My hubby was going to take our scooter from the parking lot but I walked straight ahead along the street to take more pictures and he caught up with me without the scooter. We passed a stall with men's panties on it. I asked him whether he needs new panties and he just nodded. it is my hobby to buy him panties anyway, lol. I chosen his size and colors i like.

I can't help but laugh when he put it like that to measure the size, lol. We can't buy the real "CK" for Calvin Klein, but we found the same brand CK for Cowo Keren or Cool Man. We found another CK for Clin Ktian, what a famous brand!.

5 minutes later we wrapped up the panties and pay IDR 120K for half a dozen panties ($8 HBD). I gave him the things we bought and ask him to get the scooter while I walk ahead to search for some stickers for my nieces and nephews.

I sent them cards last Eid Al-Fitr and they fought for the car stickers despite the fact that I have sent them different one, each. Kimmy called me and show her brother's crying over the stickers that he hasn't got. This 2 year old boy really something. So I promised to buy them another stickers later and Kimmy requests for BTS stickers. I saw a man selling toys and asking him whether he has stickers too. He appointed a small stall behind his. I saw a young lady squatting and arrange the stickers, photos and accecories.

you can search for whoever South Korean Singers, actors or actress you want, but almost all the small bowls contains BTS's, the cheapest is IDR 1K/piece and the expensive one is IDR 15K. Okay, it's not the original merchandise so the quality just so so and I said to myself that how great is this boyband so they can make other people can live better by selling their popularity?

I failed to find the car stickers, My hubby is waiting on the scooter, so I need to make up my mind what to buy for Kimmy and left with him. Beside the clothes and toys, we can find vegetables seller, fruits seller, glasses, kitchenwares, foods, drinks, bags, even the rental board for children to doddling or coloring.

Few has good spots to install a tent and plastic sheets but many just put their goods on the ground under the sun. Cars are forbidden but motorbikes, bikes and scooters were free to pass through this place. The street is about 100 meters long and it's livelier at the afternoon and evening. I think the traders will move to another place tomorrow and come back again next saturday. I know there's kinda market on monday afternoon at my neighborhood and another one I saw on sunday a few next blocks from this place.

I don't go to this kinda market often, just occasionally like that day. I don't want to violate the government appeals to stay away from crowded place. So, to avoid the crowd, I choose to come when not so many people around and leave immediately after i found what i look for or taking some pictures to post on the market friday.
