Economics is Everywhere (Dtube Video)

‘Economics is everywhere’ is a new series of videos I am posting relating to how economics appears and is being applied in our daily lives and daily activities. This video series series complements a series of posts I am also putting up on Steemit, see link below for corresponding Steemit post.

This first video takes a look at the decisions we make in a working day and how we are consciously or subconsciously applying economics in our day.

The aspects of our daily lives we investigate in this video area as follows:

  • selection of breakfast. E.g. breakfast cereal vs. toast
  • choice of mode of transport to work, i.e. car vs. train vs. bus
  • bring lunch to work or eat out.
  • go straight home after work or socialise with colleagues

The video also investigates the economic concepts applied to our daily lives. The concepts investigated in this video are as follows:

  • utility maximisation
  • economic evaluation
  • behavourial economics

Whether we are applying economics to the activities we engage in on a particular day or if we are consciously or subconsciously collecting information regarding future decisions. Economics plays a part in our lives. It is important to understand how economics works in order to enhance the quality of our lives.
