Navratri means "nine nights". It is celebrated differently in different states of India. Navaratri is a Hindu festival which is kept for worshiping Goddess Durga. During this Navaratri, nine forms of Mother Durga are worshiped. This festival is very festive throughout the country.
During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti / Devi are worshiped. The tenth day is famous as the name of Dussehra. Navaratri comes four times a year.
Durga means removing the sadness of life. Navaratri is an important festival which is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout India.
