Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas: Droning the River

I just finished this video yesterday: I had an idea to film the entire length of the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas - it's a popular destination to float, drink and have a good time on the water.

It's also the shortest river in Texas so I wanted to start with this challenge since I'd love to do this for other rivers although a lot of them would take years and even decades to capture the length.

It proved to be a challenge as well for amount of days that I shot and batteries I had to use. So I only filmed about half of the river but I captured the most popular stretch: from the beginning of the tubing stretch (called Landa Falls right next to Wurstfest) all the way to the main hang out: the Tube Chute near the San Antonio Street Bridge.

I filmed with my DJI Mavic Air 2 drone and put the settings to 4K at 24 FPS (technically, 23.976).

If you don't feel like watching the entire video, skip to the long shot at 5:24. I think it's the best shot I've ever done with a drone - I kept it steady and filmed a few football fields worth of action as people tubed down the chute and hung out in the water.

Enjoy and prost from New Braunfels!
