Drawing of a Beautiful eye [Full Process]

'Les yeux sont le miroir de l'dme

This is a proverb meaning:

(The eyes are the mirror of the soul)

To understand what the person is like, it is enough to look into his/her eyes.
The eyes tells us not only about the character of a person, but also reflects the physical state of the whole body.

The eyes is the most beautiful part of the human body for me, because the eyes manifest the connection between the body and the soul between the matter and the spirit. It is also the most FUN to draw because of how exciting it is to shape the iris.

So, here is my final drawing:

I hope you are liking what you see :)

Below is the full process of how I made it. It is very simple, even a novice like me was able to draw it. So, im sure you can also. It is just a bit tedious, but its well worth it. Satisfaction guaranteed! 😁

Materials used:

Sketch book
Pencils - HB, 4B and 6B
Eraser
Cotton Buds (as blending stump)
Sharpener (because we need to keep the pencils sharpened to draw precise details)

Step 1: Guidelines

Here I used HB pencil to sketch the outlines of the eye. I drew the sketch very lightly so that I could erase it easily. Note: Make sure to keep your pencils sharp throughout the whole drawing. This will give better results.

Drawing the highlights and the pupil.

Step 2: Pupil

Here I shaded the pupil using 6B pencil, I pressed the pencil firmly to achieve a solid black color and darkened the outlines with a 4B pencil.

Step 3: Shading

Now, I started shading the iris very lightly with an HB pencil. After I'm done with the first layer of graphite, I added more layers to thhe darker areas where the shadow of the eyelid would hit. I used a 4B pencil to have darker color.

Step 4: Creating layers

I continued adding more layers to the iris using a 6B pencil and used cotton buds to blend the graphite and create a smoother gradient until I was satisfied with the result. And I scribble some lines to the iris to make it more detailed.

Step 5: Eyeball

Next, I shaded the eye ball with a 4B pencil and blend it using cotton buds to create the shadows and I added veins and blended it to have a smooth finish.

It's now looking alive.

Step 6: Skin

Next, I shaded the skin and tear duct using 4B pencil and smoothen it using cotton buds.

Step 7: More Skin shading

I shaded the skin to create more layers to create depth and realism to the image.
