Chapainawabganj district is an administrative area of Rajshahi Division in the northwest of Bangladesh. This district under Rajshahi division was sometimes called Nawabganj and Champai. Before the Indian subcontinent, it was a part of the Maldah district. It was separated from Maldah in the year 5 and incorporated into East Pakistan and was regarded as a subdivision of Rajshahi district. It started as a single district in the 5th. Many people also know Chapainawabganj as 'Amer Desh'.
