I think Hive (and steem too) is perfectly suited to store verifiable credentials. I didn't get around to seriously work on it as yet but I hope I will.
Meanwhile I store here the Diploma delivered by the music Conservatory of Luxembourg city to my daughter Caroline CRISTESCU (born 24.07.2007) attesting that in 2019-2020 she successfully completed the 1st cycle of instruction in flute playing, with a "very good" level
