I don’t know if that’s original, but I do think this does add value. | But even if someone completely copies and pastes an article from, let's say NYT or from facebook, and I like the content, this post adds value and I upvote it. | In the early days of industrialization „work“ could be measured with the time put in at the working place as each laborer produced approximately the same output in a given time period. Today that is seldomly applicable. That’s why I told my supervisor some years ago that he should tell me his expectations towards me and my labor output. How long I need to achieve that output is up to me. If I get it done in 5 hours a week, I gain some free time, to read, to pursue professional education or whatever. Output (and payment) has become uncoupled from time. | And as a friend recently pointed out, even upvoting only one's own content (as ugly it may be) is "legally" not wrong. Choosing what to upvote and what not is an embedded right earned by acquiring Hive and powering them up. I don't like this behavior at all, but I don't see a feasible way to prevent this kind of 100% self-voting. We'll have to live with that bug. | Und wie ein alter und guter Freund (v.a. alt) kürzlich bemerkte, ist es sogar "rechtlich" nicht falsch, nur eigene Posts upzuvoten. Die Entscheidung, was upgevotet wird und was nicht, ist ein eingebettetes Recht, das man sich durch den Erwerb von Hive und deren Power-up verdient. Mir gefällt dieses Verhalten überhaupt nicht, aber ich sehe keinen gangbaren Weg, diese Art der 100%-Self-Upvotes zu verhindern.
