Die 3 neuen Welpen beim säugen.
Hallo aus Uruguay,
bei Emmi war es mal wieder soweit. Eine Geburt stand an. Dieses mal passte es zeitlich sehr gut. Die Welpen von Rosie waren gerade aus dem Haus und da war wieder Platz in der Kinderstube.
Doch es lief nicht so ganz ohne Komplikationen.
Die Erste war beim Tierarzt der im Ultraschall nichts erkannte und meinte sie wäre nicht schwanger. Darauf sind einen Tag später wir zum Nächsten und da wurden 4 Welpen erkannt. Somit bestätigte das unser Wissen, das Emmi schwanger war.
Nun warteten wir auf den Termin.
Pünktlich zu diesem stellten sich auch Kontraktionen ein und meine Maus war sich relativ sicher, dass noch in der Nacht die Welpen das Licht der Welt erblicken.
Doch dem war nicht so.
Darum sind wir dann morgens nochmals für einen weiteren Ultraschall zu unserem Tierarzt gefahren. Die Welpen waren ja mittlerweile so groß, dass selbst der Ungeübteste sie erkennen musste.
Und ja er bestätigte und 3-5 Welpen.
Wir wissen es nicht, nehmen es aber an, dass die Fahrt zum Tierarzt und zurück die Wehentätigkeit bei Emmi beschleunigte. Jedenfalls dauerte es nicht mehr lange und der erste Welpen purzelte aus dem Geburtskanal.
Nach gewisser Zeit folgte der 2. Welpen und beim dritten, einer Steißgeburt war ich mit der Kamera sogar ganz dicht dabei.
Es blieb dann auch bei 3 Welpen. Ein weiterer nachträglich erfolgter Ultraschall gab uns dann die Gewissheit, dass Emmis Bauch wieder leer war.
Was die Geburt so verzögerte wissen wir natürlich nicht. Viel länger hätte es nicht mehr dauern dürfen, denn die Welpen warn schon etwas blau angelaufen was auf fehlenden Sauerstoff zurückzuführen ist. Allerdings hat sich das unmittelbar nach der Geburt und dank der liebevollen Behandlung meiner Maus auch gleich wieder gegeben.
Im Moment entwickeln sich die Drei zu wunderschönen Bobtails.
Alle Drei haben Eines gemeinsam: Sie haben vollkommen weiße Köpfe was schon als Besonderheit gilt. In ein paar Tagen werden wir dann wissen ob auch welche mit blauen Augen dabei sind. Man darf davon ausgehen, denn die Mutter und auch Ramiro der Vater haben Beide jeweils ein blaues und ein braunes Auge was sie schon deswegen zu ganz besonderen Tieren macht.

In a very long birth.

At Emmi it was that time again. A birth was due. This time it was very timely. Rosie's puppies had just left the house and there was space again in the nursery.
But it didn't go without complications.
The first one was at the vet who didn't see anything in the ultrasound and said she wasn't pregnant. One day later we went to the next one and 4 puppies were recognized. This confirmed our knowledge that Emmi was pregnant.
Now we waited for the appointment.
Just in time for this, there were contractions and my mouse was relatively sure that the puppies would see the light of day that night.
But it was not like that.
That's why we drove to our vet for another ultrasound in the morning. The puppies were now so big that even the most untrained had to recognize them.
And yes he confirmed and 3-5 puppies.
We don't know, but we assume that the trip to the vet and back accelerated the contractions at Emmi. In any case, it didn't take long and the first puppy tumbled out of the birth canal.
After a certain time the 2nd puppy followed and with the third, a breech birth, I was very close with the camera.
It then stayed with 3 puppies. Another subsequent ultrasound gave us the certainty that Emmi's stomach was empty again.
Of course, we don't know what delayed the birth. It shouldn't have taken much longer, because the puppies had turned a little blue, which was due to a lack of oxygen. However, that happened again immediately after the birth and thanks to the loving treatment of my mouse.
At the moment the three are developing into beautiful bobtails.
All three have one thing in common: They have completely white heads, which is a special feature. In a few days we will then know whether there are any with blue eyes. One can assume that the mother and also Ramiro the father both have a blue and a brown eye, which makes them very special animals.

En un parto muy largo.

En Emmi fue esa vez de nuevo. Se esperaba un nacimiento. Esta vez fue muy oportuno. Los cachorros de Rosie acababan de salir de la casa y había espacio nuevamente en la guardería.
Pero no pasó sin complicaciones.
La primera fue en el veterinario que no vio nada en la ecografía y dijo que no estaba embarazada. Un día después pasamos al siguiente y se reconocieron 4 cachorros. Esto confirmó nuestro conocimiento de que Emmi estaba embarazada.
Ahora esperamos la cita.
Justo a tiempo para esto, hubo contracciones y mi ratón estaba relativamente seguro de que los cachorros verían la luz del día esa noche.
Pero no fue así.
Por eso fuimos en coche a nuestro veterinario para otra ecografía por la mañana. Los cachorros eran ahora tan grandes que incluso los menos entrenados tenían que reconocerlos.
Y sí lo confirmó y 3-5 cachorros.
No lo sabemos, pero suponemos que el viaje al veterinario y la vuelta aceleraron las contracciones en Emmi. En cualquier caso, no pasó mucho tiempo y el primer cachorro salió del canal de parto.
Después de cierto tiempo siguió el segundo cachorro y con el tercero, un parto de nalgas, estuve muy cerca de la cámara.
Luego se quedó con 3 cachorros. Otro ultrasonido posterior nos dio la certeza de que el estómago de Emmi estaba nuevamente vacío.
Por supuesto, no sabemos qué retrasó el parto. No debería haber tardado mucho más, porque los cachorros se habían puesto un poco azules, debido a la falta de oxígeno. Sin embargo, eso volvió a ocurrir inmediatamente después del nacimiento y gracias al trato cariñoso de mi ratón.
Por el momento, los tres se están convirtiendo en hermosos bobtails.
Los tres tienen una cosa en común: tienen la cabeza completamente blanca, lo cual es una característica especial. En unos días sabremos si hay alguno con ojos azules. Se puede suponer que tanto la madre como el padre Ramiro tienen un ojo azul y uno marrón, lo que los convierte en animales muy especiales.
