Hazard's effect: Gladbach back in the track

Gladbach is not a good place for Fortuna Dusseldorf. Only once in the last 43 years did F95 win at Borussia (2: 0 on 30 November 1984) - and that will stay that way for the time being. Despite defensive over long stretches of appealing performance the climber lost namely in an average game with 0: 3. Decisive was ultimately a penalty.

Gladbach coach Dieter Hecking changed after the 0: 5-clap in the cup against Leverkusen three times: Raffael, Strobl and Plea (after thigh problems) were preferred to Kramer, Stindl and Herrmann.

In contrast, Dusseldorf coach Friedhelm Funkel relied on exactly the same team as in the 5-1 cup victory in Ulm.

With the burden of only one point out of six games, the Fortuna in Gladbach remembered the simple virtues: twirling and running readiness Funkel had apparently vaccinated his protégés. And they also put that into action - and that's quite neat. Gladbach came to clear optical advantages, but could not capitalize from their own possession.
