Die Bildung von Gold, Platin und anderen schweren Elementen gibt schon länger Rätsel auf. Denn Atome schwerer als Eisen können meist nicht in normalen Sternen und Supernovae entstehen, sondern erfordern einen schnellen Neutroneneinfang, den sogenannten r-Prozess. Dabei werden Atome in extrem energiereichen, neutronendichten Umgebungen so durch schnelle Neutronen bombardiert, dass die Atomkerne heranwachsen und Protonen entstehen. Als Folge bildet sich ein neues, schweres Element.
Das Problem jedoch: Wo dieser r-Prozess stattfindet, ist bisher erst in Teilen geklärt.Zudem gibt es in unserer Galaxie fünfmal mehr Gold als allein durch die relativ seltenen Neutronensternkollisionen erklärt werden kann.
Hinzu kommt: Viele alte Sterne aus der Anfangszeit der Milchstraße sind goldreich, obwohl damals nur wenige Neutronensterne und noch weniger Kollisionen dieser Sternrelikte existierten.
Das überraschende Ergebnis: Die alten, goldreichen Sterne der Milchstraße kommen gar nicht aus unserer eigenen Galaxie. Sie entstanden ursprünglich in kleinen, benachbarten Zwerggalaxien. Dort gab es schon vor mehr als zehn Milliarden Jahren genügend Neutronensternkollisionen, um schwere Atome wie Gold, Platin und andere Elemente zu erzeugen.
Menschen versuchen schon seit Jahrtausenden, mit Geistern und Göttern zu sprechen. Nutzten die alten Ägypter dazu goldene Zungen?
In der deutschen Sprache wird der Tod manchmal als „ewige“ oder „letzte“ Ruhe bezeichnet. Von einer Ruhe nach dem Tod kann bei den alten Ägyptern aber offenbar keine Rede gewesen sein: Nach ihrem Ableben mussten sie sich in einen Gerichtssaal des Totengottes Osiris begeben und dort die Fragen von 42 Göttinnen und Göttern beantworten, bevor man sie in die Unterwelt ließ.
Das mag die Grabbeigaben erklären, die bei einem Mumienfund im November in Ägypten aufgetaucht sind: Mehrere Menschen wurden in der Nekropole von Quesna im westlichen Nil-Delta mit goldenen Platten in Form von Zungen begraben, die im Mund der Mumien lagen. Diese goldenen Zungen sollten den Verstorbenen vor dem Totengericht möglicherweise dabei helfen, mit Osiris und den anderen Göttinnen und Göttern zu sprechen, damit der Übergang in die Unterwelt gelingt, mutmaßte das ägyptische Antikenministerium.

Mein persönliches Fazit:
Anscheinend ist das Mining von Gold bereits abgeschlossen. Trotz seines hohen alter von 10 Milliarden Jahren hat die Faszination an Gold nicht nachgelassen. Das Mining von Bitcoin wird wohl noch bis ca. 2140 fortgeführt, falls bis dahin die Faszination bestehen bleibt.
Allerdings ist tatsächlich eine sache nach dem lesen der Artikel aufgefallen... Seit mir Anfang des Jahres mein Zahnarzt eine Goldkrone verpasst hat, scheinen mir meine Zuhörer viel gespannter und aufmerksamer zuzuhören, wenn ich über Kryptowährungen philosophiere.
Wenn die Ägypter also recht haben, müsste ich mir nun einen Finger vergolden lassen damit mein Blog erfolgreicher wird? 🤔

The formation of gold, platinum and other heavy elements has long been a mystery. The surprising result: the old, gold-rich stars of the Milky Way do not come from our own galaxy. They were originally formed in small, neighbouring dwarf galaxies. There, more than ten billion years ago, there were already enough neutron star collisions to produce heavy atoms like gold, platinum and other elements.

However, the ancient Egyptians obviously did not have a rest after death: After their demise, they had to go to a courtroom of Osiris, the god of the dead, and answer the questions of 42 goddesses and gods before they were let into the underworld.
This may explain the grave goods that turned up in a mummy find in Egypt in November: Several people were buried in the necropolis of Quesna in the western Nile Delta with golden plates in the shape of tongues placed in the mummies' mouths. These golden tongues were possibly meant to help the deceased talk to Osiris and the other goddesses and gods before the court of the dead, so that the transition to the underworld would be successful, speculated the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities.

My personal conclusion:
Apparently, the mining of gold is already complete. Despite its age of 10 billion years, the fascination with gold has not diminished. Bitcoin mining will probably continue until around 2140, if the fascination remains until then.
However, one thing actually stood out after reading the articles... Since my dentist gave me a gold crown earlier this year, my audience seems to listen much more eagerly and attentively when I philosophise about cryptocurrencies.
So if the Egyptians are right, would I now have to have a finger gold-plated to make my blog more successful? 🤔
