Ich habe keine große Ahnung, versuche es aber trotzdem. Ganz nach meinem Profilmotto „…aber nichts davon gescheit“ :)

Es geistert mir schon lange der Wunsch durch den Kopf einen Streamingdienst zu finden, der tatsächlich hält was er verspricht. Einige Ideen sind schon vorhanden, wenn auch das Ganze nicht wirklich greifen will. Viele Projekte versanden und warten auf das Vertragsende ihres Domainhosters, um dann als Screenshot auf archive.org Staub im digitalen Museum zu sammeln. Eigentlich traurig.

HIVE hat nun soviel Potential für so vieles (sofern ich das bisher verstanden habe), daß es doch eine fabelhafte Initiative wäre einen Streamingdienst auf dieser Engine zu bauen. Ob das möglich ist wissen Berufenere sicherlich besser. Ich schreibe jetzt diese Skizze, in der Hoffnung mehr Informationen zu der Idee sammeln zu können.

Der Grund für so eine Plattform ist vielleicht noch wichtig zu erwähnen. Es geht hier nicht um den schnellen Reichtum. Es geht um die wiedererlangte Freiheit als Künstler. Als (ehemaliger Berufs-)Musiker kenne ich nicht nur die erdrückende Last des Überlebens als solcher, sondern auch die zahllosen Geschichten all der Kollegen, die mit Herz und Blut, aber leeren Taschen leben. Das Gleichgewicht von Pflicht vs. Kunst ist vollkommen aus der Balance. Kunst zählt nicht mehr. Und das merkt man an den Produktionen. Wir alle arbeiten Tagesjobs um die Kunst zu finanzieren. Da ist nichts verkehrtes dran, aber ich kenne auch Künstler die mit ihrer Genialität die Möglichkeiten kriegen müssten – zu unserer aller Vorteil – das zu machen, wofür sie auf die Welt gekommen sind. Für manche ist Musik ein Hobby, für manche eine Berufung. Letztere gehen viel zu oft kläglich unter.

Jetzt skizziere ich einige Punkte sehr grob, die ich nach eurem Feedback nochmal verbessere. Vielleicht entsteht ja eine solide Idee, die zu einem Proposal führt. Würde mich freuen.

1. Die Plattform muß simpel, übersichtlich und personalisierbar sein. Letzteres ist eine schöne Komponente, da der Fokus auf die persönliche Verbindung gerichtet ist. Sich sein eigenes „Hörzimmer“ einzurichten ist eine charmante Note und nicht geringzuschätzen.
2. Die Urheberrechte liegen komplett beim Künstler, was durch die Blockchain möglich gemacht werden kann. Habe ich schon an anderen Stellen gesehen. Prinzipiell besteht die Möglichkeit den Mittler auszuklammern, was angesichts der gegenwärtigen Knebelverträge (=Raub und Knechtung) sehr angebracht ist. Das Verhältnis zwischen Label, Studio und Vertrieb wird neu gedacht werden müssen – was aber nicht negativ ist. Im Gegenteil glaube ich, daß der Trend von Kommerzialisierung, Aristokratie und Studiosterben rückgängig gemacht werden kann. Können wir ja noch darüber diskutieren.
3. Wie bei HIVE wird durch die Streams Wert generiert. (Verstehe ich das so richtig?). Also bei einem Stream wird eine Summe generiert, die direkt zu 25% and den Hörer, und zu 75% an den Künstler geht. Die Wallet des Hörers akquiriert eine Summe, die wiederum für direkte Unterstützung oder Käufe eingesetzt werden kann. Das wäre der gewünschte Zustand, wenn der Laden läuft. Ihr habt sicherlich eine bessere Einsicht in das Thema Vorfinanzierung, und stetige Wertgenerierung. Nur her damit :)
4. Neben dem Stream kann man die Musik ebenso in der Währung JIVE kaufen. Nicht nur digital, sondern ebenso als MC, CD oder Vinyl. Ein digitaler Download kann kostenlos zum Kauf eines physischen Tonträgers mit angeboten werden, oder man kauft nur den digitalen Download.
5. Künstler haben die Möglichkeit innerhalb von JIVE eine eigene Website zu verwalten, auf der man mehr vom Künstler erfährt, auf dem neuesten Stand bleibt, oder die Musik direkt kaufen kann. Das habe ich schon bei anderen Projekten gesehen, doch waren diese entweder schwindelerregend kompliziert, oder eher für Ingenieure konzipiert.
6. Anders als bei Spotify, Apple Music und dergleichen könnte man die charmante Kommentarfunktion von Hive mit einbauen. Als Hörer, der begeistert seine Titel, Alben oder Playlists mit anderen teilen will, oder selber einen „Sender“ mit Follower einrichtet, kann man so andere anstecken und seine Lieblingskünstler, oder Funde verbreiten. Sofern es nicht Free Jazz ist wäre das eine schöne Komponente. Eine Blogform mit einzubauen hat sicherlich auch eine große Wirkung.
7. Community nicht nur als digitale Stätte verstanden, sondern ebenso als analoge Veranstaltungen. Damit meine ich die Möglichkeit, daß man innerhalb von JIVE auf kommunaler Ebene Konzerte organisiert. So wie hier bei HIVE in gewisser Hinsicht Gruppen gebildet werden, die nicht nur rege miteinander kommunizieren, sonder auch HIVE-Treffs veranstalten, kann man dieses Element auf JIVE verwirklichen. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Krypto-Social-Media Plattformen hat ja HIVE mehr den Geschmack einer Gemeinschaft. Das macht es besonders. Und das jetzt auf Musik übertragen …
8. Zum Wert des JIVE stelle ich mir erst mal vor, daß 1 JIVE=1 REGIVE ist. REGIVE ist eine Idee bzgl. Regionalwährungen, die auf HIVE gebaut sind. Mehr dazu vielleicht morgen. Aber JIVE könnte als Währung jederzeit ein- oder ausgezahlt werden basierend auf dem Grundwert eines REGIVE, der selbst wiederum als Regionalwährung einen reellen Wert besitzt. Das hat für mich ein massives Potential mit Strahlungswirkung.
9. Wie Eingangs erwähnt ist die Grundidee die Freiheit vom halsbrecherischen Markt, Freiheit von den Normen des Marktes, die einen zwingen schnell, effizient und belanglos zu produzieren, wenn man seine Brötchen verdienen will. Man kann sagen, daß heute der Künstler ein Produkt ist, und die Musik nur der Jingle dazu. Das gehört für mich in die Abteilung Dekadenz.

Es schwirrte mal die Idee eines Grundeinkommens für Künstler durch den Raum – tut es vielleicht auch noch. Das lehne ich kategorisch ab, da man somit – seien wir doch mal ganz ehrlich – in Abhängigkeiten fällt, die wir mit der Idee von JIVE überwinden könnten. Ich mag den freien Markt.

Natürlich gibt es die Realität, daß nicht jeder Künstler – egal ob „gut“ oder „schlecht“ – es schafft gehört zu werden um von seiner Leidenschaft zu leben. Das sind bittere Realitäten für viele und ich habe da keine Lösung für. Ich kenne persönlich Künstler die fabelhaft sind, und habe auch welche gesehen, die zum Teil ganz aus dem Internet verschwunden sind, und somit nur eine verblassende Erinnerung bleiben. So ist das Leben und man passt sich eben an. Mit JIVE aber gäbe es zumindest die Möglichkeit die Hörer, und nicht die Labels, entscheiden zu lassen wer gehört wird und wer nicht. Und mancher wird zumindest einen bescheidenen Betrag verdienen können um sich ein Instrument zu kaufen. Das ist schon mal eine ganze Menge.

Wer weiß was aus JIVE noch entstehen könnte: lokale Talentförderung, finanzielle Unterstützung für Live Gigs, Kunstschulen oder Zuschüsse für Studios, die dann ihre Zeit denen anbieten können, die kein Geld haben für teure Stunden vor Mikrofonen, die zwei Monatsgehälter kosten.

Was meint ihr? Welche skizzierten Ideen haben etwas gutes, welche nicht? Was müßte man einfügen, was hinauswerfen? Wäre das möglich, oder ist das eine Seifenblase? Womit sollte man anfangen, und worauf aufbauen?
Euer Feedback und eure Hinweise verarbeite ich nach meinen Möglichkeiten und überarbeite das Ganze in eine bessere Form. Morgen versuche ich das ganze mit einer gemalten Skizze anschaulicher zu machen. Aber JIVE ist etwas, das wirklich Hoffnung macht. Und auch wenn ich glaube, daß das Internet abgestellt wird (ich irre mich hoffentlich) wäre die Vorarbeit jetzt schon geleistet, um das Internet zu dem zu machen, was es sein sollte:

I have not much of a clue, but will try anyway. According to my profile motto "...but none of it in depth" :)

For a long time, I've had the desire to find a streaming service that actually delivers what it promises. Some ideas are already there, even if the whole thing does not really want to take hold. Many projects get bogged down and wait for their domain hoster's contract to end, only to collect dust in the digital museum as a screenshot on archive.org. Sad, actually.

HIVE has so much potential for so many things (as far as I understand it), that it would be a great initiative to build a streaming service on this engine. Whether this is possible is something that people with more experience know better. I'm writing this sketch now, hoping to gather more information about the idea.

The reason for such a platform is perhaps important to mention. This is not about getting rich quick. It's about regained freedom as an artist. As a (former professional) musician, I know not only the crushing burden of surviving as such, but also the countless stories of all those colleagues who live their calling with their hearts and blood, but empty pockets. The balance of duty vs. art is completely out of whack. Art doesn't count anymore. And you can see that in the productions. We all work day jobs to fund art. There's nothing wrong with that, but I also know artists who, with their genius, should get the opportunities - for the benefit of all of us - to do what they were born to do. For some music is a hobby, for some a vocation. The latter too often go down miserably.

Now I'll sketch out some points very roughly, which I'll improve upon after your feedback. Maybe a solid idea will emerge that will lead to a proposal. That would be nice.

1. the platform must be simple, clear and customizable. The latter is a nice component as the focus is on personal connection. Setting up your own "listening room" is a charming touch and not to be underestimated.
2. copyrights are completely with the artist, which can be made possible through blockchain. Have seen this in other places. In principle, there is the possibility to exclude the middleman, which is very appropriate given the current gag contracts (=robbery and slavery). The relationship between label, studio and distributor will have to be rethought - which is not a negative. On the contrary, I believe that the trend of commercialization, aristocracy and studio death can be reversed. We can still discuss this.
3. as with HIVE, value is generated by the streams. (Am I understanding this correctly?). So a stream generates a sum, 25% of which goes directly to the listener, and 75% to the artist. The listener's wallet acquires a sum, which in turn can be used for direct support or purchases. This would be the desired state when the store is up and running. You guys certainly have better insight on the topic of pre-funding, and steady value generation. Go ahead and share :)
4. Besides the stream, you can also buy the music in the currency JIVE. Not just digitally, but likewise as MC, CD or vinyl. A digital download can be offered free of charge with the purchase of a physical sound carrier, or one buys only the digital download.
5. Artists have the possibility to manage their own website within JIVE, where you can learn more about the artist, stay up to date, or buy the music directly. I've seen this on other projects, but they were either dizzyingly complicated, or designed for engineers.
6. unlike Spotify, Apple Music, and the like, HIVE’s charming comment feature could be included. As a listener who enthusiastically wants to share their tracks, albums or playlists with others, or sets up a "channel" with followers themselves, you can infect others and spread the word about your favorite artists, or finds. Unless it's free jazz. I draw the line here :). Including a blog form certainly has a great effect as well.
7. community understood not only as a digital site, but also as analog events. By this I mean the possibility of organizing concerts on a community level within JIVE. Just as here at HIVE in a way groups are formed, which not only communicate actively with each other, but also organize HIVE-meetings, one can realize this element on JIVE. Unlike other crypto social media platforms, yes HIVE has more of a community flavor. That's what makes it special. And now transferring that to music ...
8. regarding the value of the JIVE, I first imagine that 1 JIVE=1 REGIVE. REGIVE is an idea concerning regional currencies built on HIVE. More about this maybe tomorrow. But JIVE could be paid in or out as a currency at any time based on the base value of a REGIVE, which itself has a real value as a regional currency. This has for me a massive potential with radiation effect.
9. as mentioned at the beginning, the basic idea is freedom from the breakneck market, freedom from the norms of the market that force you to produce quickly, efficiently and irrelevantly if you want to earn your bread. You can say that today the artist is a product, and the music is just the jingle to it. For me, that belongs in the department of decadence.

The idea of a basic income for artists was once floating around - maybe it still does. I categorically reject that, because - let's be honest - you fall into dependencies that we could overcome with the idea of JIVE. I like the free market.

Of course, there is the reality that not every artist - whether "good" or "bad" - manages to be heard to make a living from their passion. These are bitter realities for many and I don't have a solution for that. I personally know artists who are fabulous, and have also seen some who have disappeared from the internet altogether, and thus remain only a fading memory. That's life and you just adapt. But with JIVE there would at least be the possibility to let the listeners, and not the labels, decide who is heard and who is not. And some will be able to earn at least a modest amount to buy at least an instrument. That is quite a lot.

Who knows what else could come out of JIVE: local talent development, financial support for live gigs, art schools, or grants for studios that can then offer their time to those who don't have the money for expensive hours in front of microphones that cost two months' salary.

What do you think? Which outlined ideas have something good, which do not? What should be added, what should be thrown out? Would it be possible, or is it a soap bubble? What should one start with, and build on?

I'll process your feedback and hints to the best of my ability and rework the whole thing into a better form. Tomorrow I'll try to make it more descriptive with a painted sketch. But JIVE is something that really gives hope. And even if I think the internet will be shut down (I'm hopefully wrong) the groundwork would be done now to make the internet what it should be:
