Working Title: Chapter 1, Part 2

"So let me get this straight," said Kline between mouthfuls of burrito, "you're telling me that the passenger who was strangled on a plane died from some sort of asphyxiation even though she wasn't actually being strangled? And then hours later after the body was moved to the morgue another person who saw it said 'Hey, this girl died because she saw something'?"

"That's correct," responded Detective Heat.

"And how would she have seen anything since there were no windows anywhere near her seat and it didn't look like she'd had time to unbuckle her seatbelt before dying?"

"The arm reached out through the gap between 3B and 3C - here you can see where they pulled back the carpet and there are significant tire marks in those places." He handed over an enlarged version of one of the photos to Kline who quickly examined it and handed it back.

"So would this count as premeditated murder in your opinion?" asked Detective Rook.

"Well that's what you two are here to determine," she responded, "but if it comes down to an individual facing charges I'd say yes." She pushed away her plate with half a burrito still left on it - she was pretty much done eating for now but decided to take one last sip of coffee before heading out. "I'm not gonna lie; this case has me stumped. How do you plan on getting the killer's testimony when they're already dead?"
