True love is acceptance, commitment, sacrifice, patience, giving selflessly. You know it is true love, when someone accepts you for who you are, commit themselves to you, and give themselves and their time selflessly.
True love is not grasping, possessing, and clinging. We all need space, time and freedom for ourselves. No relationship can survive if one party is clingy, while the other party constantly feels the need to have his own personal space.
To love truly we must accept others as they are without any expectations. True love requires faith, trust and loyalty. Not chocolate, flowers and expensive gifts. Anyone can love you when the sun is shining. In the storm is where you learn who truly cares for you.
True love is very unromantic. It is dealing with the mundane, the pressure of every day life. When the honeymoon stage of the relationship is over, that is when the test of love, true love begins.
