In my mamas kitchen: yummy drumsticks in tomato gravy!

Ingredients :

  • 2 drumsticks chopped at 2 inches height each
  • 3 tomatoes chopped and made Puree
  • 2 curry leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon wheat flour mixed in 3 tea spoon water
  • chilly powder 2 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder a pinch
  • coriander powder one teaspoon
  • salt to taste
  • coriander leaves for garnishing
  • oil for tempering
  • a few mustard seeds
  • a few urad dal
  • asafoetida a pinch

cooking time : 15 minutes

serves 2 people

In a container boil the chopped drumstick with one glass of water.

These boil in about 5 to 10 minutes, keep them aside after boiling.

Take a pan and put quarter teaspoon oil with the mustard seeds, urad dal & asafoetida

after the tempering add the tomato gravy into it ( chopped and beat tomatoe)

add the chilly powder 2 teaspoon

turmeric powder a pinch

coriander powder one teaspoon &

salt to taste to the gravy.

keep on slow flame for 10 to 12 minutes till the tomato gravy thickens little. you can add wheat flour dissolved in water to increase the thickness. now add the drumsticks and garnish them with coriander.

you can serve it with hot steamed rice or Indian bread(roti).
