ReadTube

Today I opened Twitter which aside from Youtube might be one of the main things I just scroll through and go "Ohh, Ah, Idiot".

So I closed it and figured since Twitter specifically is just about drawing my attention aren't there sites like that which could do it with more substance.

I know, you are screaming Hive. Fair enough and I can definitely make that a Habit to scroll by new or whatnot, I already read plenty of titles but maybe not as many as I should.

But, what sites are there on the interwebs which also provide a bit of random information.

Fucking Homepage

Not as jam-packed with information as I might have liked but it seems this curated list of items always includes at least one proper article, under the "educate your ignorant ass" section.

A great one from the 8 May daily was this post about Mechanical Watches

So It think this is a great site if only for the fucking title.

Highbrow

I remember Highbrow from way back, but I think I stopped using it purely because it was in email and that kinda irks me. I think the biggest issue I had with Highbrow was that they split these "courses" across multiple days.

Personally if something is going to be interesting I am going to dive in and quickly binge a lot about it. That makes any follow up information almost redundant, or it will make the follow-up days irritating since I may already have dismissed the topic.

I definitely see the value in it and sure it is up to me to choose topics I am really interested in.

That is the problem, I don't want to, and give me almost any topic at the right time and I will probably not mind it.

Highbrow is great for a daily does style education but not particularly for me. Maybe it is for you?

Hive

I know.

Also with the addition of @Dreemport and possibly paying attention to the @peakd curation feed there surely should be something to always binge, distract and attract.

For the most part that is true, until it is not and so be it. The one benefit Hive does have is some better content discovery and recommendations are improving a bit as we go.

The quality of content, well it is hit and miss as with any social, take my trash for example.

By trying to find sites that do provide interesting content that you did not know you wanted, I inevitably also would want to see that on Hive, and implement aspects of that into Dreemports submission system but for the most part.

It is just a case of having random good things to read instead of browsing Twitter if and when I do.

No. I don't understand or like Reddit.

What sites do you know of that are good perma tabs to always have open because there is always something to find?
