On Wednesday the carpenter went right up before it got terribly hot and got the eastern end above the living room laid down.

The electrician showed up and got the attic lights working. We talked about the outside light by the back door and I found one he had suggested and ordered it. When it comes in, he will finish the outside work.

When it got too hot in the attic, the carpenter came down and painted the back porch door. Once he’d finished that, he left early as he had another job he wanted to finish before the storm hit in the afternoon.

The masons were here early as they were trying to get the stone on the chimney before the storm came. They didn’t think they’d be able to do it, but they did!

It’s on all sides and they cleaned up the area. The stone still needs an acid wash and sealing. That will have to wait until the rain stops on Thursday.

But they got all set up to work on pointing the masonry heater on Thursday while it rains.

The carpenter said he would be here at 6AM on Thursday to finish the attic before it gets too hot. The back porch door needs a second coat of paint and it will be finished.

I will have to make a punch list for all the winterization that needs to happen before the end of October.
