Conscious Music you have probably never heard of | #57 | Divination - Live @ Radiozora

One of the unexpected gems I stumbled upon on this year's festival circuit is Divination, the progressive psy side project of the man also known as Sinerider who has been turning a lot of heads in recent years with his mighty sound while this side project has been largely sailing under the radar, despite its fulfilling approach.

The sound literally lured me to the floor - despite the slower BPMs and often melodic approach Divination's music sounds thick and more like full-on than most prog these days does. It's witty, deep, satisfying and a glorious time on a good daytime floor with empathic people.

And the set he played at Antaris was one of those where I felt full resonance, feeling at times as if I had written the music myself, for the delicate execution of innovative ideas and the musical handwriting that pushes the bounds of innovation in a much needed way - this dude just speaks my musical language, as opposed to a great deal of other producers I heard last weekend. This set is a little older and I think his music has been evolving greatly since then, but it's the best set I found online yet until this festival season has passed and there will be something more up to date to meet the high standard I heard at Antaris. Yet, this recording from 2017 still is a great introduction to Divination's sound and if you dig good progressive you will not be disappointed.

If you are new to this type of music and are looking for an easy way into advanced progressive psytrance that tickles the senses and that doesn't come with a thick layer of cheese but a mighty dose of honesty and heartfelt calibration this music will be for you. If you dig high impact full-on psytrance and thought progressive isn't really your thing, then this dude and his music might still change your mind. It was hands down one of the best sets I heard last weekend.

Here's one of his sets he recorded for Radiozora in 2017.

If you feel like dancing turn on hd and enjoy this underappreciated gem, while I slowly find my way back to "reality" and process all the input of last week to tell you about it ;)
