Conscious Music you have probably never heard of | #52 | TRD - Lucid Dreaming

A real underdog of contemporary psychedelic trance and a greatly overlooked artist pushing the boundaries of the psy genres, TRD's music is not only cutting edge when it comes to sound engineering but dares to go where many other psy artists won't - fusing nighttime influences with "slower" daytime bpm's and a mighty dose of recognizable musical handwriting that gets the listener into a mystical state of discovery. It's a rather mature sound and sometimes I wonder if the world is ready for it ;)

His unique blend of a variety of psychedelic styles fuses into a magnificent journey as delivered by one of my favorite records of his - the Lucid Dreaming Ep. Still barely noticed by the majority of the scene I have been meaning to feature TRD for a while now and since we are entering psy season I thought this might be a great time to do so. It's a great warm-up record for getting in the mood, it rolls like thunder and swings like a pendulum and by the end of the EP you will have been exposed to something mystical and worthy of discovery. That said, as with most of psychedelic trance this probably isn't for everyone. However, if you dig new soundscapes and the psychedelic state of mind this may be really worth a try!

His tracks are memorable, at times challenging at other times healing but always with a unique quality to fuse aetherial aspects with a sense of mystique, grounding and connection to the Earth - a unique take on what psychedelic music of our age can conjure up in the listener. The EP is a full-blown journey containing faster and slower tracks that captivate and propel. While to a newcomer it may not sound like anything significant, to psychonauts familiar with contemporary psychedelic trance his style will certainly raise an eyebrow and create a wave of enthusiastic listeners on Earth once they stumble over his music.

I have used his tracks often in my own sets and I really can't wait to catch the dude somewher on a dancefloor in the coming years.
