Chocolate Covered Strawberry ~ Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Fruit Dessert

Hello Hiveans! Let's do fruit dessert this week!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries are fancy, beautiful and impressive looking luxury-style bite-size desserts suit for any special occasion. But they are quite expensive to buy, here in Kuala Lumpur it cost around RM100 for a dozen (12 pieces). I think it is just logical to buy this occasionally for any special occasion like Valentines Day or Birthday but if you want to always have this around as a dessert at home or as a snack when you crave for it, it is better to make it at home. It so easy and fun to do and it makes it more special if you can make it at home for your loved ones, plus you perhaps will only need to spend half the price of what you are supposed to pay for retail price.

  4. Melt the chocolate. The easiest way to melt chocolate is by using a double boiler technique. Just place a heat-safe glass bowl over a saucepan. Simmer 2 inches of water in a saucepan, then place a heat-safe glass bowl over the pan. Make sure the bowl tightly covers the pot and there are a few inches of space between the bottom of the bowl and the water. Add chocolate to the bowl and stir constantly, add 1 tablespoon oil and stir until melted and smooth.

  8. Holding the strawberry by the stem, dip the fruit into the melted chocolate then nuts if you like and transfer to the parchment lined baking sheet.
