Where REAL Queens fix each other's crowns : Cheers to a great kickstart of our Founding Women Get Together!

The mandatory group photo! Missing 3 more people here!

It’s been a while since I last organized our Founding Women Get Together (the last one was in June 2017) and that long wait is absolutely worth it.

This round, we have a great mix of aspiring women, from ladies who makes accessories to sourcing natural oils to film screening coordinator to sewing Hijabi dolls that have flown to far countries (than the maker herself!) to a veterinary that once practise in New Zealand!

I contemplated to do something different this round.

I wanted to share about Steemit and get more women to come on board. I wasn’t sure how these women will take it as they have never heard about Steemit before and I have never done any session to introduce Steemit to a bunch of strangers yet. It can be pretty nervy to imagine if you fail to explain it well.

So after talking about it for weeks off and on with @coloringiship. I went ahead with the plan. Well, it’s either we do it now or never right?

@coloringiship have never presented anything in the last 10 years since she left the working world to be a full time mother and I thought it would be good to warm up her up by letting her present at least 2 or 3 slides. I promised that I will be on standby in case she needs me.

When @perennial read about my posting about the event, he was kind enough to offer his time to talk about corporate law. From my experience, a lot of people have vague information about corporate law, what better opportunity to have an expert to address this at the event. And so the agenda is set!

I have decided to be early at the venue to ensure that the setup is in order and to test the venue’s projector. The last thing you need is a faulty one. @coloringiship reached 5 minutes earlier and chatted with one of the participants. While arranging the setting up with the outlets staffs, @coloringiship helped out with the name tags task. We agreed to take photos of each other (using our phones!) during the presentations – well obviously for our Steemit’s posting (Lols!).

The event started with self-introduction, beginning with my journey and then eventually moved to the participants. The presentation went superbly well, with questions upon questions addressed, exchanging ideas and not forgetting the laughters in between. Thank God I brought along a portable mic to the event, it is truly a lifesaver for those who speak so soft! At the end of the day, we were all like bunch of good friends, although most of us have just met for the first time! It truly warms my heart to see how everyone got along so well.

Q&A in progress!

The Steemit presentation went extremely well too. Lookout for the next entry on this when we organize our first How-to Steemit workshop! We may not be fully techie on this but we share from the heart of what we know and have learnt. @coloringiship manage to present one slide (I have simplified and merge all 3 slides to 1) as I didn’t want her to feel overwhelmed. After that, I took over and presented the rest to the audience.

I am grateful that few of our #teammalaysiababes came down to support too! Thank you @esdee and @vikapuzach. Even @calebleejl dropped by for a while to show his support. Thank you brother!.

Myself and the beautiful #teammalaysiababes ladies, @coloringiship, @vikapuzach and @mashakolga!

At the end of the day, I’d like to give a pat on our backs (myself & @coloringiship) for taking up the challenge exploring the Steemit intro to these ladies since we have never done it before. And I wish to thank these wonderful ladies and our Steemian friends who have taken the time to come to show their support.

I have a proud moment as well when I noticed how passionate & energetic @coloringiship is with the participants. I truly think she should do this often. God knows how Moms hardly have time for this.

This art by @coloringiship truly represents a Women's strengths!

I am glad the first take off went amazingly well. Looking forward to organize more of this soon. It’s truly an amazing feeling to imagine how many women’s lives will change once they come on board.
