A new world record has been set for the sale of a comic book!!!
A copy of Action Comics #1 has sold for $3.25 Million dollars!!! That’s right folks...but this is no ordinary comic. This is the mega grail of all comic books as Action Comics #1 is the very first appearance of the Man of Steel...Superman!
Vincent Zurzolo of Comic Connect, brokered the deal to a private seller which narrowly beat out the record of another copy of Action Comics #1 which sold for $3.2 Million back in 2014.
This copy that just sold was graded through industry leader CGC at an 8.5. Thats a freakin beautiful copy...especially for something from the late 30’s!!! Last week I did a piece of another book from the 30’s which we got graded for a customer that came back at a 6.5 and THAT looks gorgeous. That’s here if ya want to sneak a peak.

While no number is set in stone, there are roughly about 100 known copies of this tasty book still floating around.
Congrats to all involved in this sale. Big events like this only help bring more attention to comic books and the industry as a whole which is a win in my books.
The downside for me is seeing shit like this really makes my kickass collection seem completely underwhelming. 😜
So go raid through the trunks in grandpa’s attic to see if he has a copy stashed away!!! Maybe you’ll set the next world record!
