The perfect mix
Translated, "affogato" means "drowned", but many Italians use the term for "suffocated". I personally love it and I often make it at home
Ingredients:
- Ice cream (smooth tastes, like vanilla, stracciatella), coffee, optional whiskey or similar
Take a cup and put the ice cream in it (remeber that the gelato goes first, otherwise the ice cream will sadly float above the coffee) and then, put the coffee.
Never too hot, rarely too cold, the perfect affogato is always just right.
Traditionally, an affogato is just that, espresso and vanilla ice cream but you could add whiskey or similar. How do you prefer to enjoy your affogato?
