After a long time without posting I will share with you my last recording, a partnership with Sonora Paulista, a studio recording based in São Paulo, Brazil.
The "Tonada" is a folkloric musical genre originated in northern Spain in the region of Asturias and Cantabria. At the beginning of the century XX appeared in several Latin American countries such as Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia and Chile.
Originally written for solo guitar, "Tonada por Despedida" by Juan Antonio Sánchez, is a representative piece of this musical genre in Chile. Also known as "Chicoria", Antonio is currently one of the most prominent guitar composers of Latin America instrumental music.
