Pediatric dentistry clinics are magical

Cinema Armchair

Today's pediatric dentistry clinics are magical, every pediatric dentist has his magic and his way of making the office as flashy as possible for children. The imagination of pediatric dentists flies but, something that almost everyone has in the office is a television set where children can choose their favorite movie or series to make them feel at home.

Some children do not notice the TV because they never use it in their homes, others are nervous and do not realize what is a TV in the place and others rather we have to lower the volume because otherwise they do not pay attention because they They transport the world of the caricature they are seeing.

Many parents come nervous, either because they have some hidden fear or because they do not know how their children will behave; when they enter the office they relax because they like the decoration and all the things we have for the children to play and some want to take Lalo El Dragón or Lucy La Jirafa to their homes. Normally I always talk with the parents, and I explain everything that is going to happen in the office and they finish relaxing.

A few days ago Gabriel came with his mother to the consultation. Gabriel was patient with us a few years ago but due to life he had not returned, and now we had to perform procedures a little more invasive than routine cleaning. His mother had a high level of stress and was trying to hide it to give Gabriel strength.

Gabri sat down in the chair and chose her favorite program, we put the "sleepy ants" so that her tooth fell asleep and behaved very well. At that moment, the mother relaxed a little.

-Gabriel: "Do not you give popcorn here?

-Dani: "No Gabri here we do not have popcorn. Why are you asking me?

-Gabriel: "Because I'm so comfortable here that all I need are the popcorn to feel at home."

-Dani (laughing): "Gabri, but if we give you popcorn here we will not be able to work on your teeth, remember that we need to fix two of your muelitas."

-Gabriel: "We can all dream."

-Dani: "You're absolutely right, let's start at once to finish fast and so you can go to your house to eat popcorn."

At that moment Gabriel's mother saw me again, she started to laugh and said: "Now I can breathe."

Most of the time we are adults who instill fear, anxiety or stress in the lives of children. If we see the case of Gabriel, it is super nice to see that he was so relaxed after he asked for popcorn, his mother controlled the stress well and did not transmit it to him. These little giants are much stronger than we imagine, let's not let our fears stop them in anything.
