Meditation for the Christmas Day
Pay Close Attention To The Word, understanding the things that surrounds the season, what is the mind of God, and what’s he saying.
This is a long read with a very simple instruction.

2Pe 1:16-21 says
For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Peter and two other disciples were with Jesus on the mountain when they heard the audible voice of God. Yet, despite hearing the audible voice of God (an amazing thing) he instructs the Body of Christ to rather "pay close attention to the written Word". As gross darkness covers the world, people may give in to seducing spirits and be led away with other so called spiritual experiences of men at the expense of the true Word of God. More tomorrow.
Though For The Day
2Pet 1: 19-21 says,
we have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts....
There are two portions of this scripture that we would like to pay particular attention to. The first is the manner in which we are to relate with the Word. Each day we are bombarded with words, words that often conflict with Truth. Fact isn’t Truth.
Truth has a very narrow definition; it is everything that is consistent with the revelation of Christ. Jesus said, ‘thy Word is Truth’; Jesus is the Word become flesh. It therefore follows that Truth is the revelation of Christ. Everything that isn’t consistent with that revelation, though quoted from the Bible, is not Truth.
Peter warns sternly, that the Word isn’t only for 'quoting, reciting, teaching, preaching, etc,' but more importantly, we are to deal with it as our only reliable source of authentic and spiritual information. It shouldn’t be enough that someone said something. As students of the scriptures, we too must spend time studying the precepts of the Truth in order to direct our steps in this life unto the next.
Peter says that we are to take a hold of it as a light, which shines in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arises in our hearts. Studying the Word is beautiful, but Peter adds,
until the day star arises in our hearts.
That’s his way of saying, don’t acquire just head knowledge of scriptures, but to personalize it until we become one with the Word. Study until such a time that without a thought, we are propelled to act the Word.
The letter of the scripture can be easily found, we desperately need our hearts to unite and become one with the Word. A living, breathing epistle of God to be read by all men!
