English news:

China Warns U.S. It May Detain Americans in Response to Prosecutions of Chinese Scholars

"The U.S. should drop prosecutions of the Chinese scholars in American courts, or Americans in China might find themselves in violation of Chinese law."

--- Law with Chinese characteristics, obviously. If Chinese people break your laws & are prosecuted for doing so, we will randomly choose some of your citizens to prosecute them for whatever we can think of.

Beijing warns Finland not to interfere in HK affairs

"a Chinese embassy spokesperson urged Finnish authorities to stop interfering, saying Hong Kong affairs are entirely China's internal affairs"

--- So, if HK is entirely Chinese, then why should Finland have separate agreements with HK & China?
& if HK is a separate entity, isn't China interfering in Finland's (& HK's) internal affairs by telling them who to have agreements with?
Meanwhile in other Chinese non-interference news: NZ academic faces axe over China research & China Urges Japan to Reflect After Suga’s Shrine Offering

Missing Hong Kong protester Alexandra Wong 'was held in mainland China'

"She said she was detained last August in the border city of Shenzhen and forced to renounce her activism in writing.
Ms Wong said she was also sent on a "patriotic tour" of Shaanxi province."

--- Oh the benevolence of the CCP! This evil counter-revolutionary heretic criticises China & all she has to do is write a short letter & appear in a video. Then she's let off the hook & even gets a holiday in Shaanxi. In every other country she would have been executed for her crimes.

Chinese military beefs up coastal forces as it prepares for possible invasion of Taiwan

"The size of some of the missile bases in the Eastern and Southern theatre commands have even doubled in recent years"

--- Clearly, this is an entirely defensive development. Those evil splittists on Taiwan are obviously planning an invasion of the mainland which has to be prevented.
Even Korean War veterans understand how threatened the Chinese motherland is: How Korean war memories in China fuel desire to take Taiwan 70 years on

Taobao Taiwan to pull out from local market at end of 2020

"deemed by local authorities to in effect be controlled by a Chinese entity, even though it is registered in the United Kingdom"

--- Registered in the UK! So, there shouldn't be a problem. After all, Chinese companies always comply with the laws in the places where they operate. Chinese companies would never ever try to evade responsibilities.

"the terms of use agreement and privacy policy to which Taobao Taiwan users have to agree links to Alibaba's agreements for global users of Taobao, which grants Alibaba access to the information of Taobao Taiwan's users"

--- Oops!

Chinese London resident who was trapped in Wuhan during peak of pandemic says country was able to control virus quicker than UK because people are more obedient

"In China if there is a rule, we follow the rule. If we see somebody not following the rules, we don't need to punish them, we need to make sure they are aware of their violations against the rules"

--- Chinese logic. We all follow, but those who don't will do it after being reminded.
But it gets even better:

"Chinese people were more likely to report their neighbours for violating the rules, something Mr Lu said he did himself during lockdown"

--- So, they all follow the rules, or are reminded to follow the rules, or are reported for not (?) following the rules.
(& if you have ever lived in China, you probably know that most Chinese care jack about rules. Anything goes, as long as you're not caught.)

Electric car maker Nio was in a slump in March. Its stock is up 1,000% since then

"An injection of 7 billion yuan ($1 billion) in April by state-backed investors in the Chinese city of Hefei, where Nio recently set up a new headquarters, was critical in restoring investor confidence"

--- Free market with Chinese characteristics.

Deutsche Nachrichten:

--- Lost in translation.
