Curiosamente tanto la prensa como la gente común en Occidente han dejado de hablar del ocurrente Boris Yeltzin. Como se sabe, este personaje fue en la década de los '90 nada menos y nada más que Jefe de Estado de la recién denominada Federación de Rusia. Quien esto escribe pudiera en este momento hacer referencia de manera crítica, amplia y dialéctica, del notable papel que al personaje le tocó desempeñar en la bisagra histórica que encarnó el desmoronamiento de la vieja Unión Soviética y la progresiva consolidación de la aludida nación euroasiática (la cual, a la sazón, se preparaba para desarrollar un modelo distinto al socialismo estado-céntrico y dictatorial). Se me ocurre más bien traer a colación un par de situaciones unidas al díscolo personaje... La primera, la nalgada que en alguna ocasión le propinó a manera de chanza a una secretaria suya en momentos en los cuales fue llamado a un acto protocolar (y que la prensa recogió y publicó). La segunda, mucho más significativa ¡y que honra este artículo!, es la expresión que en tales años tuvo a bien dirigir al mundo... Uno de los mayores errores que en su tiempo cometió la URSS fue confundir "igualdad" con "igualitarismo". ¡Cuán aguda expresión!
