Play To Earn: Alienships Pt 1

So I'm going to chronicle my Alienships journey because it will be helpful for me to go back to my posts and tweak my strategies to earn from the game.

I'm fully addicted to the game thanks to the Free NFTs I won from @chubb149 's posts. He's always giving away free NFTs so follow him. Every once in awhile I fomo into a game because of him. And right now, I can't turn away from Alienships

I won the most basic of Ships from @chubb149 and I battled away with it as long as I could before other aspects of the game intrigued me. In my last post I referred to a meteor that I got that was backed by wax and that really opened my eyes.

The game itself is an old timey flash style space invaders clone that has you owning the ships you play with and you shoot your enemies with them. It's challenging at first but now I win every time and earn credits.

When I started, that was all you could do. Buy a ship and play. At that point I was intrigued because I figured when I got sick of playing, I could just sell my ship and move on. That would have been enough for me at the time and probably even now if there hadn't been so much development in the game.

Now you can do all kinds of things with regard to earning and honestly I haven't figured most of them out yet. (One of the reasons for this series). Further, I implore any Hivian who is interested in games and needs content ideas to jump into https://alienships.io/?r=6915 and chronical your experience. There are very few tutorials written so there is a market for you as an author.

The people in the discord are helpful in explaining things but there is no community focused on tutorials. I really feel like it would be a Win/Win/Win for Newbs/Alienships/Hive if someone a little more organized than myself took it up for content creation.

Now back to me. I'm addicted to the missions and literally play all day when I'm on zoom calls. Now, you don't really need to own ships because there is rental combat where you play for free and split credits with the ship's owner. You can earn more credits this way as opposed to waiting for your own ships to cool down and be available for use again.

So while I won a free ship from Chubb, (valued at $1.67 worth of wax at the time) there is now no ship required to start. You can just go blast away to see if you like playing.

However, when I started playing there was no free rental option and my 1 ship had a 4 hour cool down period so I bought another. Then another and then 2 more.

I had purchased 4 A1 ships which are the cheapest and have the least utility. It was a big mistake because I could have bought better ships with more powers with shorter cool down periods bu since I had no great way of learning this I did it the hard way.

Now if you look at my fleet in the above picture you'll notice I have a bunch of ships. In fact I have enough to blend them into something called a Space Mine 1 which those in the discord are suggesting that I do in order to earn materials from the game to sell on the Atomic Hub.

Right now the cheapest mines are going for around $26 and I've spent less than that building the fleet I will burn for my mine.

This move will change my strategy completely. Initially I was playing missions to earn credits very similar to what I do in rising star.

However, in Alienships you earn credits toward NFTs that add ability to your ships such as warp or autopilot. Now, I'm blending my ships into a mine and going to use the free rental ships to earn those credits while earning materials from my mine as an owner.

I have no clue who what where why and how I will earn from my mine and it is the cheapest mine option available in the game but I'm going with the advice from other players on how to move from a newb to an earner in the game.

The good news again is that if I get sick of the game I can now sell my mine instead of my ships! Look for more on Alienships in my future posts and I hope you decide to jump in, play and write some killer tutorials for the game.
