Skoda Octavia iV Hybrid PHEV SE L Review

There are lots of variety when it comes to powertrains for the Octavia - petrol, diesel, plug in hybrid and mild hybrid - so which one is this?

The Octavia iV is the plug in hybrid, with a 1.4L petrol engine, coupled to a 6 speed DSG. It not only gives you the ability to travel in pure electric mode, it also means that when driven in hybrid mode, your fuel economy can easily be in three figures (this can be helped by putting it on charge overnight)

It's refined and comfortable on long journeys, and engine noise is minimal, so it's great for motorway driving.

Whilst you do lose some space in the boot (thanks to the hybrid set up) it still gives you a very respectable 490 litres, and this compares well to its nearest rivals.

Skoda also fit their cars with lots of great features - we love the umbrella in the drivers door, and the ice scraper in the petrol cap (this one also has a gauge on it for checking tyre tread depth...nice) and the smartphone storage pockets in the back of the front seats.

Skoda have taken these smart additions to the next level, and have included a USB-C port near the rear view mirror - it's perfect for plugging in your dash cam.

Add to these the safety features, of which there are many - AEB, blind spot detection, a full virtual cockpit with navigation, and a heads up display...the list goes on.

Prices for the range start at just over £20,000.00 - this one with options costs £34,825.00.
