1970 Maserati Ghibli 4.7 Spyder by Ghia

After Maserati 3500 GT Spider, another great Maserati is heading to the auction block through RM Sotheby's in London next month, this stunning 1970 Ghibli 4.7 Spyder for about £ 400,000.

History of the Maserati Ghibli

The Maserati Ghibli was named after a hot wind of the Libyan desert. It was presented in 1966 during the Turin Motor Show based on a design by Giorgetto Giugiaro, Italian designer working at Carrozzeria Ghia. The production of the coupé began in 1967 and in 1969 for the open-top spyder.

This model is one of 125 Ghibli spyders built. The Ghibli becomes one of the best Italian automobiles of its times with the Lamborghini Miura and the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta :
Number 9 of the Top Sports Cars of the 60's by the American magazine Sports Car International.
