History of the Pontiac Star Chief
The First Generation of the Pontiac Star Chief was presented in 1954 with a new and longer wheelbase than the traditionnal Chevrolet's wheelbase used since the beginning of Pontiac. The Second Generation appeared in 1955 with a new body and V8 engine with improved suspenssion.
In 1957, Pontiac decided to remove the Silver Streaks on the hood (its trademark since 1935) in order to keep with industry trends. Chrome, flash and oversized grille were fashionable.

This 1957 Pontiac Star Chief has 347 cu inline V8 engine producing 270 hp.
