Results Bonhams Les Grandes Marques 2021

The Bonhams online sale Les Grandes Marques du Monde ended online on March 10 without much madness. The star of the sale remained the Aston Martin DB4 Series II but just thanks to the first owner of the car, Maradona, the bid of 1992 Porsche Carrera 911 rose to the same final price of the DB4 : € 483,000.

I had not seen yet the poster this sale but I find it very cool.

Aston Martin DB4 Series II, first car under David Brown era and to feature the famous Superleggera all-aluminum body designed by Touring

Porsche Carrera 911 bought by Diego Maradona in November 1992 during his transfer to Sevilla.

Pending : I think that the final auction price did not reach the expected minimum price... There must be some discussions going on for these cars between buyers and sellers

Otherwise there were other beautiful cars that I didn't have time to talk about including this Opel Lotus Omega Type 104 Sports Saloon sold for € 53,000 :

This Opel Lotus Omega was the fastest car of its time with a top speed of 282 kmh. Banned from sale in England despite to be hand built in the Lotus British Factory. This example was one of the three to have been presented during the 1992 Paris Motor Show.

Many Ferrari were also sold among which this 1987 Ferrari 512 BBi sold for € 184,000 :

This beautiful Berlinetta designed by Scaglietti (I love the design), was presented at the 1976 Paris Motor Show and inaugurated the initials BB associated with 512, for Berlinetta Boxer and 5 liter 12 cylinder.

But the Bonhams sale in Paris is known for the rarity of these pre-war cars, which isn't my favorite era because I lack a lot of knowledge about the cars of this time. But I'm learning because there are beautiful designs, almost works of art 😀 like the poster car a 1938 Peugeot 402 Darl'mat Special Sport, unsold for the moment (estimated price of € 350,000) :

Beautiful, non ?

Another beautiful pre-war car, this rare 1933 Lagonda 14/80HP Sports, one of the twelve with a Vanden Plas bodywork (not the German music metal band but the coachbuilder 😀) :

Now only 8 in the world, this great looking two seaters is unsold (estimated price € 110,000)
