New Advances in Cannabis for Brain Cancer Research

Recent advances in cannabis as brain cancer treatment have mapped out the brain’s cannabinoid receptors (CBr). These receptors take up cannabinoids like THC and CBD to shrink tumours and cut off their blood supply. A 2020 study shows more CB1 receptors in brain tissue and more CB2 receptors in the blood vessels supplying the brain. Both of these types of receptors were more prolific in advanced stages of brain cancer, meaning there is still hope for advanced stages.
