How's it going folks,
I was tired of being in the city today, so I headed out to the badlands for a couple hours of hiking and pissing around.
I love the rugged scenery, Its one of my favorite areas to go hiking and camping, and to just clear the old noggin.
This is called Castle Butte, in the Big Muddy Valley.
Big Muddy Valley has a fairly rich history as a hide-out for bandits as well as a place to stash loot from Bank robberies. A few of the bigger name people to hide out here are Dutch Henry, Harry Longabaugh (Sundance Kid), Sam Kelly, and even Al Capone is rumored to stay here on his way to and from "Little Chicago".
Those caves are perfect to hide gold, guns, anything, I mean imagine being a Mountie back then, with an oil lamp, if you're lucky, heading deep into rattlesnake infested caves, to investigate the bandits! I think I'd be looking the other way too, meaning it's a perfect hide-out.
It was 34 degrees in the valley, so my hike was a pretty short one, but still really great getting out!
