Tubing

I am still using air clay as of this moment. I do not have any space to store my unbaked clay as of now. Its really hard considering that I have to make time studying my driving lesson modules, cope up with BFH and, do whatever I am supposed to do.

So the back story of this creation was inspired by the season in the Philippines. Its summer time there and I have a lot of fond memories playing in the water. I have never tried tubing though.....for anyone out there who does not know what it is, its simply getting an inflatable thing and just float down a body of water.

I started with this. I would have wanted to add some decorations but, I want it to look as close as my childhood memory- using old inflatable tires as substitute for commercially bought ones. Back then, everything is expensive and rare to comeby.

Start dressing the character.

Add the leg and place it on the "tire."

Add some details on the feet. I want it to wear thongs.Attach the head.

Finish the details of the head. At this point I am not really concerned about the arms or hands because I want it to look like its reading a magazine or sipping something to help it cool down.

If you're wondering how it came to be that my creation got to where it is on the first picture, I slept. I realized that the eyes does not look great- it loook like it wanted to murder someone. The hands and arms are terrible. There are a few thing I would have wanted to change but, working with an air clay, my options and time are limited so, I just fixed whatever I needed to fix.

I would have prefered using a polymer clay for my creation but as of now, I am busy and swamped. I do not want to stay away from blogging as this is an important part of me.

Until next time!
