Bro Dredd is based on the fictional character Judge Joseph Dredd, portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in Judge Dredd, the movie adaptation of the comics anthology 2000AD. Dredd is a senior street judge in the teeming futuristic metropolis of Mega-City One, empowered to act as police officer, judge, jury and executioner.
Ellen Ripbro is a parody of Lieutenant Ellen Ripley from the Aliens film series, portrayed by by Sigourney Weaver. Ellen is a futuristic transport spaceship officer, and caring ex-mother, since her child died before Ripley returned home.
