Arresting The Police, By The Police

In a land where bribery makes the world go round, at 69% bribery rate and world's No. 1 (2017 survey), why shouldn't the police not get their fair share of the general trend of bribe-taking? Or so perhaps thought Biren Kumar Bora, sub-inspector in Paltan Bazar police station, Assam, who was caught red-handed while pocketing Rs 20,000, at Hotel Victoria, from a gentleman named Jayanta Das.

Congratulations!

The Vigilance and Anti-corruption cell of Assam police had made the arrest. Congrats!

Backstory

The money-driven, inspector originally demanded for Rs. 40,000 from Mr. Das, who, on his part, alerted the Anti-corruption and Vigilance Wing about the former.

Conclusion

Jatindra Nath – manager of Hotel Victoria – has also been arrested, along with the inspector, in connection with this case. While Das has been granted bail by the court.

Oh such an ending on a sweet note! Hit the Upvote Button, if you agree.
