Welcome to another day of the #botanicalgardentours. Today I want to present to you the Mimulus Luteus, also known as the Yellow Monkeyflower.
Herzlich willkommen zu einem weiteren Tag mit den #botanicalgardentours. Heute möchte ich euch die Mimulus Luteus vorstellen, die auch als Gelbe Gauklerblume bekannt ist.
The Yellow Monkeyflower is winter-hardy upt to -17°C and a perennial plant that grows in bushes. She is vommon in the western parts of whole Amerika and can be found close to stream and river banks ip to a hight of 1400 m. She prefers swampy to moderately moist soil and can reach a hight of 50 cm. Thus she is a perfect plant if you like to beautify your pond, as the can also be planted to a water deep of 10 cm. This examples here are still in the beginning of the blossom, which is usually from june to august and shows a nice trompet shaped form in the end that reminds on orchides and the petals are up to 5 cm long. Nowadays there are even breeding forms in blue and purple colour available. The flower has only four stamen in the end. The leaves have an egg shape and are opposite-superposed.
Die Gelbe Gaukletblume ist winterhart bis -17 ° C und eine mehrjährige Pflanze, die im Gebüsch wächst. Sie ist im Westen Amerikas beheimatet und man findet sie in der Nähe von Bächen und Ufern bis zu einer Höhe von 1400 m. Sie bevorzugt sumpfigen bis mäßig feuchten Boden und kann eine Höhe von 50 cm erreichen. Somit ist sie eine perfekte Pflanze, wenn Ihr euren Teich verschönern möchten, da die Pflanze auch bis zu einer Wassertiefe von 10 cm gepflanzt werden kann. Diese Beispiele hier sind noch am Anfang der Blüte, die normalerweise von Juni bis August ist und am Ende eine schöne trompetenförmige Form zeigt, die an Orchideen erinnert und deren Blütenblätter bis zu 5 cm lang sind. Heutzutage gibt es sogar Zuchtformen in blauer und violetter Farbe. Die Blume hat am Ende nur vier Staubblätter. Die Blätter haben eine Eiform und sind gegenläufig angeordnet.
