A new water filter on my kitchen bench

Not a hard decision to buy this highly attractive hand made pottery stoneware water filter recently. We needed something new to make clean water and as it worked out as it always does, we saw this very attractive pottery water set up on a friend's bench. So after some investigation on google we found the company's website, Durand Stoneware. Handmade in Australia by a family business operating since 1980; located in a little town called Beachmont, near the Gold Coast in Queensland.

It took a week to arrive well wrapped n the biggest cardboard box. A quick read off the instructions is all we needed to set it up and now this pretty green pottery water filter stands proudly as a feature, with a hint of artistic flair. The pot holds 12 litres.

Why we like this water system:

  • Lead free and non-toxic glazes
  • Made from high fired stoneware
  • No plumbing needed
  • Naturally cool
  • The carbon filters out chlorine, amoeba, algae and bad taste
  • English pottery made by Doulton (called durand), water filter replacements are only needed once a year, after drinking 2000 litres

Sharing photos from the information brochure that came the pottery filter. Sorry, they are poor quality, but thought you might be interested.

Drinking clean water has always been a high priority for me and always consider that the related costs. It is a personal choice. I read that this water filter system is used by such organisations as the Red Cross when their workers travel to help countries in need.

Cheers and thank you for dropping by

Alyssums are one of my favourite flowers, forever growing shining with sun, water and chats all mixed up with a good dollop of caring love. A determined flower that find little nooks and crannies in all kinds of places. They stay as I simply cannot pull these delicate white flowers up to wither and die in the bin.
