Is there business behind the war?

Entering into conflicts seems to have a great cost, either among ourselves, among nations, among corporations, yet it happens, why, is it often necessary to activate economies or some macro-economic sectors?

I had always heard, for a long time, that war is a business, I didn't quite understand why, but recent events have confirmed or shed a light to understand it.

Governments in general (especially in developed countries) have a large arms industry, wars imply a consumption of these products, and the revenues from such sales are usually very generous, regardless of whether it results in the death of civilians.

I will speak specifically of the United States of America, which as a country manages a discourse of double standards, I will give two very concrete examples. On the one hand, as a state they speak of world peace, of avoiding confrontations, of guaranteeing Democracy and avoiding authoritarianism at world level as if they were the policemen of the world, among many other things, however, on the other hand, it is normal that the citizens of the United States of America are not aware of the fact that the United States is the only country in the world that has a double standard, and that the United States has a double standard.

  • Example 1: Israel has been bombing Palestine for several weeks, spending millions in armaments, missiles, so that in this war many civilians die including children, in spite of this the pentagon approved the sale of more weapons to Israel, which of course will be used against Palestine. This has been criticized and frowned upon worldwide.

With what I express in the previous paragraph I do not want to assume that I am in favor of any country in particular, I only put something in the sight of all, because it seems to me that it is absurd "to guarantee the peace with weapons", and I do not speak of a religious subject because I do not see the logic of through a (religious) excuse to be used to assassinate people.

  • Example 2: For some weeks now there have been serious economic and social problems in Colombia, not only because of the effects of the pandemic, but President Ivan Duque proposed a change in the country's tax reform, to pay debts with the International Monetary Mondo, but undoubtedly there were few who agreed with this, so the demonstrations were not long in coming, and there was the biggest attack by law enforcement against citizens that has occurred in recent years in Latin America, and beyond the Colombian state being censured by the "guarantors of peace ", what happened was an increase in the sale of weapons to Colombia by the U.S. government.

Undoubtedly there is a level of hypocrisy in the actions of the U.S. State, which is far from a country in favor of peace. With this I do not want to talk about politics or religion, I speak from a human point of view, as a citizen of the world who is affected by everything that is happening.

I would like to know your opinion on this matter, as always, from respect I address to all of you.

Happy week.
