Peek 20201109 1120.gif

Taking the idea from some of Samsung's "The Frame TV" I spent a day or so creating a nice digital art frame for my tokenized art collection using Godot and help from the @nftshowroom team. As you can see from the short gif the application smoothly cycles through your art collection and allows you to configure it to your liking.

Auto Mat:

The interface takes into account the size and shape of the image adding a mat to each image. If the image is smaller than the default resolution the image will be given a second border as seen in the screenshots below.

Configurable Options

Along with the obvious options such as selecting the collection you want to display you can also change:

  • Whether the display shows your Collection (Stuff you bought.)
  • Whether the display shows your Gallery (Stuff you created.)
  • The timeout between images.
  • Whether should show NSFW art.
  • Whether or not it should be full-screen.

Road Map

Unlike a lot of my other projects this one serves its purpose already and the roadmap is really more of a possible future for the project IF there is demand for it.

  • Ability to detect and use higher resolution versions of the art unlocked by the purchase
  • Ability to show animated art.
  • Add a 3 second pause to show the artists message included with the piece before display.
  • Some sort of authentication to verify you are the owner of the collection/Gallery.
  • Ability to show random curated works which sends a tip to the artist every time the art is displayed.
  • Background ambient music.
  • New frames and mats.
  • Artist controlled options?

Anyway, what do you guys think? Might be worth getting a raspberry pi or NUC to plug into your TV, no? Let me know what you think in the comments below!
