The great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major), young.

Young woodpeckers differ from adults in a big red cap all over their heads.
When they become adults, the red hat will become small and will be located only on the back of the head, and then if it is a male, the females do not have a red hat, but at a young age, the red hat also has females. Also pay attention to the red “pants”, in adults they are bright, and in young ones they are still dull.

Young teenage birds, they can be met individually, they are quite adults and can live independently without parents. I often see them since the end of July. And there are no adult birds nearby.
And this is strange, probably this is such a feature of these birds, because, for example, Great Tits (Parus Major), live with their parents and other chicks until they are fully grown.
