Another hot day and another orphaned baby. This time a kestrel chick came to us. The baby barely began to fledge and still retained infant fluff.
Fortunately, the chick is completely healthy, has an excellent appetite and knows how to eat on its own. This simplifies everything.
Like all kestrels, it already behaves quite aggressively, so I don't get my hands close to it unnecessarily. Even at such a young age, it already has a sharp beak and claws.
Despite the fact that the bird will grow up quite small, it is absolutely not suitable as a pet! Kestrels are practically not tamed and have a bad temperament. I always do my best to make the bird ready for independent life and return it to the wild.
