But it's not that simple. For instance the sense of touch is actually a variety of distinct sensations: Light touch, pressure, erotic sensation, vibration and temperature.
The point is if there is a sense, there is a related sensor. But we have so many sensors... shouldn't we have much more senses?
It depends on the field of expertise the authors but the list of senses can reach 20 or more.
We have senses of hunger and thirst. And don't forget proprioception and equilibrioception (sense of balance).
Keep adding sensors and you keep finding senses.
