New Generation Oura Ring

I got that new new Oura generation 3 on my grubby little fingers.

Biohacking cult has got its hands on me and I was a believer only after owning the previous Gen 2 ring for mere 6 months. I really enjoyed tracking my basic activity, sleep, resting heart rate and temperature with the ring and seeing how different lifestyle choices effect those. I think data like this, from a long period of time, could potentially be super helpful if you get any health problems and have to go to the doctor. I for sure would show my data so the doctor can get a better insight on what my heart rate looks like on a daily basis, instead of just the one single measurement in the office. This ring is expensive, but if you are interested in what goes inside your body and understand that you yourself are responsible for your health, I think it really is worth the money.

The Gen 2 ring was lacking on some departments but now with some extensive research and magic they've managed to fit some more amazing features inside this tiny and stylish little thing. All of the new features have not been rolled out yet, but I still decided to get the new ring as soon as it was on pre-sale. They had this really attractive deal where those who had bought their previous ring less than a year ago, I believe, got a nice discount. Mine was 75€ off, with the addition of a free lifetime membership, since they now will be charging a monthly fee for the new ring if you want all the features.

I was most interested in seeing my daytime heart rate, which is tracked every 5 minutes I think, or on command when ever through the app. Later on you can get an active heart rate monitoring during a workout. Next year they are also rolling out a pulse oximeter, which is going to be interesting.

I've only had the new ring for less than a week and I'm waiting on the rest of the features that should be out late this year and early next year. If you are interested in this topic, I can do another post about the ring once I've used it longer.
