Citando un símil que utilizan los surfistas: "No existe la ola perfecta". Algo parecido me ocurre a mí con las IPA. Llevo años buscando la "IPA perfecta" y no la encuentro. Algunas han acariciado muy de cerca lo que yo considero laperfección en una cerveza y ésta que os muestro para el Beersaturday está entre ellas.
La fama que precede a Monkish, es mundialmente conocida. Situada por los amantes de las cervezas entre las tres mejores del mundo en lo que a estilo lupulados se refiere junto con Tree House o Trillium. Sus cervezas tienen altísimas puntuaciones en páginas de cerveceros como Untappd. Cuando miles y miles de personas opinan igual... será por algo.

Para un amante del lúpulo como yo, lo primero que buscamos en una cerveza es amargor. Pero en mi caso, aprecio mucho el procedente del lúpulo fresco. Con esos sabores a hierba fresca que rascan en el paladar desde el primer sorbo. Esta cerveza lo tiene de una manera contundente, com muchos toques cítricos y lejos de las modas actuales que inundan las cervezas con sabores de frutas tropicales que se llevan por delante el resto de matices, encontramos también un toque sutil a fruta de hueso maduro al final.
La combinación es perfecta. A ello se suma un aroma muy intenso y una densidad espectacular. En resumen, una cerveza de 9.99, ya os dije que la IPA perfecta está por llegar.
