Today was just a to beautiful day to be staying indoors been a sunny clear blue sky day , i just had to get myself out there and take in some of the Vitamin D so set myself out for a walk Benjakitti Park buy myself some lunch and picnic in the park.
Benjakitti Park is situated in the heart of Bangkok city with some beautiful views of the nearby skyscrapers it was opened in honor of Queen Sirikit's 72nd birthday in 2004. It has a man made lake of approx 2km in diameter on one side and the park itself covers a area of about 21 hectares.
Around the man made lake is were the joggers will jog around or you can simply just walk around the lake and enjoy the views the greenery and the city skyscrapers you can also hire paddle boats if you feel energetic this will give spectacular views from the center of the lake.
The other half of the park has a bicycle track running around the green area of the park with a lovely tree line of trees along the track giving you great shade from the sun.
In between the bicycle track you have you will find pathways that will lead you to some nice rock pond gardens and benches were you can sit relax and enjoy and enjoy the chirping of the birds.
Within this park there are also lots of little work out areas with chin up bars and pedal bikes and much more for cardio workouts.
The park also has many little garden areas for engagements or weddings.
During the day the park is pretty quite but when the afternoon sets in you get all the joggers and bicycle riders coming in which brings the park alive but at the moment there is work been done in this park around the lake so it's all closed of to the public till the end of this year so the park has hardly anyone in there i think i was the only one apart from the workers.
They have drained half of the water out of the lake so they can build these new foundation around the inner side of the lake not sure what it's going to be but i will be looking forward to the finished stage.
One thing the butterflies don't seem to be worried about the people missing from the park they are still going about there daily chores.
On my way home i run into a lovely Cactus nursery been a succulent plant lover i just had to stop to have a look at these little fellas and take a few snap shots.
They even had some lovely assorted color and types of Orchids they are such a elegant flower.
